The Darkness At Bay

A friend and his family.

I am slowly learning things. I end up just being an ass.

I am learning.
I do not know much.
I do not feel love really, but its more like gravity,
a force to keep me grounded.
I am learning to see it as a pillar.

Experience is limited, my opinion is self indulgence.
A principle I am recognizing as fact,
in a cold light I see love must have saved my life.

The darkness would have eaten me, and life would have divorced this body.
I find THAT hard to wrap my head around, but there it is.

And so, this special clan of people,
this family are here together,
keeping warm, fending off the shadow,
with love, a pillar of fire.

OK. Enough mushy crap.
I mostly just like fire.
